Exchange Email to PubSub

Looking at getting email from Exchange to Client over XMPP

M SExchange Server is buried deep within a private network. An intermediate server running WebDav would convert Exchange data to XMPP, send XMPP over port 443 through proxy to PubSub server in DMZ. Connections from client to PubSub server will be through VPN.

Possible path:

OWA -> Webdav -> ?XML? -> XMPP -> PubSub Server

XML might get prototyped with SyncML Server.
Question: is SyncML XML simple to convert to XMPP? Same standard?

Passel Identity System

"Passel is a lightweight, user-centric identity system that enables people to manage their online identity. It is designed to maximize privacy and user-control of information which forms an identity. Passel is built on the idea that identity is composed of equal part social norms and 3rd-party verified information."

Interesting stuff. I can see this being used as a component for authentication.
